about me

I want to introduce myself. I'm Jessica and I reside in one of those off the trail type of towns that you will miss if you are not looking for it. I have always lived in these sort of small towns but my current town is the smallest by far. According to the 2010 census, there were 756 people and I think that qualifies for a small town. I raised three beautiful children and can't wait be a grandma (if I live that long) . My oldest has a little girl but his wife refuses to let me be part of her life but that is a story for another day

I do not consider myself a survivalist or a die hard prepper but I would like to think that I have skills and knowledge to sustain me for the short term and maybe even the long term depending on the circumstances. I grew up spending most of the weeks during the summers, on my grandparents farm so I learned a thing or two as a child, and I have continued to learn over the years because learning never stops.

I am writing this blog to take prepping a step further or to take some of the confusion out of prepping and make it easier for everyone. I want to integrate prepping supplies with easy to use recipes. Recipes that are as versatile as those cooking them. I will have not only recipes but needed supplies, heating sources, and much needed gear to survive your situation whether it might be a hurricane or an apocalypse. No one wants to eat just beans and rice everyday for the rest of their lives so being prepared with a few more ingredients just may give you a leg up on your fellow preppers.
